What it does

Snapstack Server is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that bridges your web browser with AI language models. It works alongside a browser extension to capture screenshots of your active browser tabs and make them available to any MCP-compatible AI client. This allows AI assistants to view and analyze web content, screenshots, and visual information directly.

How to set up

Installation involves two components: (1) Install the snapstack-server on your local machine as an MCP server, (2) Install the companion browser extension in your web browser. Once both are running, the extension captures screenshots when triggered, the local server stacks and manages them, and your MCP client can request these images on demand. All processing happens locally with no data sent to external servers.
